I got tagged. is that anything like getting served? I dunno.
wow, holy crap, 2 entries on 2 consecutive days? No way! well, A) i got tagged, as I've stated three times now, and B) i forgot something very important-
My good friend Billy from high school got married on sunday, and in all my stupor last night, i forgot to wish him a hearty congratulations. I'm happy for him that he's found that special someone, and I look forward to meeting her one day! I was sending you good vibes all day on sunday, even though I couldn't call. Hope some got through, dude.
I'm also beating my head against a wall more again tonight, as the twins had a big spat today, and our producer added a last-minute show to tomorrow's itinerary YET AGAIN and it's starting to piss me off. this one leaves us with zero downtime between shows apart fromt he hour and a half drive, but fuck it, who needs to eat lunch anyway? it's overrated...
I'm surpressing an urge to bitchslap the hell out of a lot of folks right now, in case it wasnt' obvious.
Oh, and as far as yesterday's thing, no, i didn't really take that test 14 times- i got that result the first time, i was just commenting on the silly nature of such tests and putting too much stock in them or taking too much pride. it was what some people term as a "Joke" and I sometimes like to pepper my profanity laced tirades against the bush administration and carrot top with one every now and then, just to lighten the mood.
So, let's move on to this thing i've been compelled to do by my good buddy Dr. Plenzenstein...
20 YEARS AGO:
1. My first day of kindergarten.
2. we moved from San mateo, CA to Albuquerque, NM. In retrospect, this was the beginning of the end for me.
3. My fifth birthday party, consisting of my first trip to Pistol Pete's,where i would while away many a birthday eating crappy pizza and playing skee-ball till i drowned in tickets.
4. a star is born as I tell my first funny story in front of an enraptured crowd at the kindergarten.
5. I had an in-depth discussion with my best childhood friend, david, about why the challenger blew up (that one's just in there to make pete feel friggin' OLD!)
15 YEARS AGO:
1. I had one of my first major roles on stage, in our D.A.R.E. (and boy, that program sure did me a lot of good, what with all the LYING TO ME and all...) graduation programs, lip-synching to my own pre-recorded voice, a trend that would set the tone for my performances for years to come.
2. Lost the last of my baby teeth.
3. Took up the trumpet. My skills have waxed and waned since then, depending on how much I'm in practice.
4. had my first big falling out with a close friend when I believed my friend doug to have cheated me in a "star wars for transformers" exchange.
5. Received my first Star Wars novel not adapted directly from one of the films as a reward from my parents for good grades. My social life still hasn't recovered.
10 YEARS AGO:
1. Sophomore year of high school begins. I was at that magical point where I hadn't hit the peak of how awesome I could be back then (Junior year), BUT, the slow creep of dissatisfaction with the whole process that would lead to my breakdown my senior year had begun. i was going to peak and crash soon, and it was building momentum.
2. Made my stage debut at the high school as the dective in "Night Must Fall" a serial killer thriller/mystery.
3. Made the state finals in speech and debate in both duo interp (Who's on First) and Duo drama (Brighton beach Memoirs)
4. Started pondering college for the first time. got some info about a little school called Ripon.
5. Dad had his heart attack while i was on a band trip to LA. I got the news while i was still on the bus. He would be ok, though.
5 YEARS AGO:
1. Start of my junior year at ripon, living in 202, the harrison ford room, with george.
2. Got back into watching wrestling after several years away. My social life still hasn't recovered.
3. met a girl who would nearly ruin my life. luckily, i ruined hers first.
4. at porch party, wej and i would play ultimate frisbee, alone, against 8 other people. 2 on 8. And we won. not just eked out, we scored at will and allowed no points. the lesson here is that wej and i as a unit cannot be defeated.
5. nominated for the irene ryan scholarship for my performance in The Bakkhai. My first trip to evansville, a city I left this morning. Life comes full circle.
1 YEAR AGO:
1. Finished my first year at the renaissance faire, starting hearing from bridgework about my first tour.
2. bought my first computer (i inherited one from brook, but it was crap, and this one i built from the ground up, making it and all the internet porn it accessed, truly mine)
3. was asked by a director i auditioned for what my goals were for the next year. i responded i didn't set yearly goals, i just strove to support myself exclusively through acting. Amusedly, he told me it was a lofty goal. In the ensuing year, to this present day, acting (and the voice work i did) has been 85% of my total income. Fuck him.
4. Realized with finality that i was old enough for my friends to start breeding. And here i was, 2 years removed from even my last girlfriend...
5. Vin was pretty darn fat! (I'm keeping that one just cause it was funny)
YESTERDAY:
1. performed 3 shows
2. mapped our shows today, only to have another one added at the last minute.
3. ate at the fox and the hound, a pub i discovered on my first trip to evansville, for old time's sake. life comes full circle.
4. Watched Family Guy.
5. Wrote an entry in this thing for the first time in 3 weeks. Click on Previous if you don't believe me.
