So i'm officially old today. 26. Closer to 30 than to 20 nowadays. It was a pretty good birthday, for the most part. A few annoyances, mostly dealing with stuff going on in the future, but I'll deal with that later. It's been a quiet birthday. Some partying after work involving a few beers and some taco dip, but that's it. Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes and especially the promises of gifts en route to me (age just makes me greedier kids)
However, last night....lastnight was insanely awesome. I saw the Gin Blossoms at Italian Fest. There was a fireworks show right before the concert, to kick off Fiesta Italiana. We got there early enough for front row seats. We were a bit off to the left of the center of the stae. If i were to have moved any closer to the band, security would have escorted me out. I rocked out like no white man has ever rocked out before. i even impressed Jesse Valenzuela with my nerdy obsession with the band when i was singing along with the new songs they were playing to advertise the new album (Major Lodge Victory, coming out August 8) He wasn't expecting anyone to know th elyrics to Fool For the Taking. I know. I'm lame and obsessed, but dammit, they're awesome. It's like a religious experience. Greatest night ever. That's all i have to say.
And it really is all i have to say, because even though i have more to say, it's late and i'm exhausted and i do still have to work tomorrow. so thanks again for the birthday love. now somone gimme some birthday lovin'.
And you've heard this song a million times, but A) i've never posted it and B) it's fucking awesome, and C) it was, of course, the highlight of the show last night. So i'm gonna give in to cliche' and sing it for you. have a good night.
